Blue Marlin is proud to be the premiere IART dive center in Indonesia. Founded in 1997, the International Association of Rebreather Trainers is considered the foremost certification organization for closed-circuit rebreathers and works closely with the manufacturers of the units to provide the latest information and safety techniques. This is the only training organization that is authorized to certify users of the JJ CCR unit, considered by most the ultimate rebreather available on the market today.
The JJ-CCR is a fully closed, electronically controlled rebreather operating with Shearwater Predator electronics and a HUD system that preforms an additional sensor calibration. It is a robust, well-engineered rebreather with multiple redundant systems on board and manual override options. There is an intergrated BOV (bail-out valve) and ADV (automatic diluent valve) in the mouthpiece and it is designed to work with back-mounted counterlungs. This unit is designed to meet the demands of the most adventurous rebreather diver planning deep Trimix dives as well as the novice diver who is looking to get into the sport.
JJ-CCR Level I
Closed Circuit Rebreather Diver Level I (CCR I). No decompression dives. Air diluent. Maximum 40 meters.
This entry level course is designed to develop the required abilities, knowledge and techniques to dive responsibly with the closed circuit JJ-CCR rebreather. After successful completion of the course, you will be able to dive with and purchase the JJ- CCR, maintaining recreational and no-decompression limits.
Pre-requisites for Level I are: 50 logged dives, Advanced Open Water/CMAS**/BSAC Sport Diver or equivalent qualification, Nitrox Diver certification and a current diving medical release.
The duration of this course is five to six days, although we recommend beginning your independent study at least one week prior to the start date of your course. Included are training sessions in our pool/confined water and 6 open water dives. You will be required to read the IART Level I manual, as well as the JJ CCR owners manual which is available for download on the IART website. We follow the 1:2 Instructor to student ratio and by the end of the course you will have at least 300 minutes in-water time.
Depths of your open water dives are as follows: dive 1 maximum 10 meters, dives 2 - 4 maximum 20 meters, dives 5 and 6 maximum 30 meters. All dives are No- decompression and are planned to remain within limits of O/C nitrox tables.
Before certification you must pass a written exam and successfully demonstrate all required practical diving skills.
Once these qualifications are met, your instructor will process your information with IART and you will be issued a certificate and a positive identification card (PIC).
Course price: 1300 Euro
CCR rental: 490,000 IDR per dive (gas costs excluded)
Softnolime: 150,000 IDR per kilo
JJ-CCR Level II
Closed Circuit Rebreather "Extended Range" Diver Level II (CCR II). Decompression. Air or normoxic Trimix Diver. 40-60 meters.
This continuing education course is designed to provide experience and training with two distinct course options:
Option A: CCR II Extended Range (Air) Diver - CCR decompression dives with air diluent to a maximum of depth 40 meters.
Option B: CCR II Extended Range (Trimix) Diver - CCR decompression dives with normoxic Trimix diluent to a maximum depth of 60 meters.
In order to qualify for either option of the Level II course, the diver must be at least 18 years of age, certified IART CCR I Diver or equivalent, provide proof of 50 or more logged hours on the JJ CCR, and present a valid medical release for diving.
The Level II course covers all theoretical and practical aspects of deep (air diluent) and decompression diving with additional normoxic Trimix theory for those enrolled in Option B. During the classroom sessions we will explain the physical and physiological hazards of deep diving, decompression planning, equipment considerations, the need of bail-out gas, and all procedures involved. We will be teaching you dive planning using Proplanner or other computer-based dive tables.
The practical aspect of Option A includes 4 dives and is spread over at least 3 days, with a minimum accumulated dive time of 180 minutes. For Option B, we will complete 2 additional normoxic Trimix dives with a minimum accumulated dive time of 300 minutes over at least 5 days.
For the course, you will be required to read the Level II CCR manual, and have access to NOAA O2-exposure tables, standard air decompression tables, and Computer-based dive planning software.
In addition to the JJ CCR unit, we will also be using a separate bail-out cylinder, lift bag, safety reel, knife or tool, decompression table, slate, depth gauge, bottom timer or computer and the rebreather should be equipped with an oxygen bail-out second stage. If you do not already own these required items, all are available for purchase in our dive center or available to rent for the duration of your course.
To complete the course, you must pass a written exam and satisfactorily complete all required practical assessments including: proper planning, calculation of dive profile, gas analyzation, equipment familiarization, emergency/out-of-air procedures, ascent reel and lift bag deployment, and decompression techniques.
After the Instructor has confirmed that your performance has reached the required course standards, your information will be submitted to IART headquarters and you will be issued a certification (PIC) card.
