If you have the time, the best way to experience Komodo National Park is by liveaboard. It is the ultimate combination of world-class diving and Jurassic Park-style adventure featuring volcanoes, uninhabited islands, Komodo dragons, dolphins cruising alongside, spectacular sunsets and tranquil star-filled nights. Our liveaboard, IKAN BIRU is perfect if the idea of “dive, eat, sleep, repeat” appeals to you. Its unique hop-on, hop-off concept allows you to join other divers as you explore the park for any amount of time between three and twelve days. Each full day on Ikan Biru sees at least 3 dives, often more. Make new friends as you log some serious time underwater, sleep under the stars, and see Komodo’s best.

night dives

Departures to embark on our liveaboard, Ikan Biru are scheduled in advance and made once every 3 days using either our small speedboat Simon, or one of our dayboats. Ikan Biru, runs on a rolling schedule with a unique, “hop on, hop off” concept. This means that you decide how long to stay (with a minimum of 3 nights) and when to disembark, effortlessly whisking you from the liveaboard using either of our dayboats. You are guaranteed a minimum of 3 dives per night booked. Ikan Biru is an ‘advanced certification only’ boat that provides guests with the opportunity to dive the best spots in the park at optimal tides. This means you are sure to go to Manta Point at the best times for mantas and hit The Cauldron on a fast falling tide to experience the ultimate adrenaline rush. We ensure guests get a minimum of 3 dives per night booked, but you might find that full days on the boat allow time for up to 4!

With the 3 nights minimum stay, we ensure that you can visit both the Komodo dragons at Pulau Rinca and the north side of the park, as these attractions are on opposite sides of the park. We only take advanced certified divers, but we do offer the advanced course onboard as a special package for just an additional IDR 4.000.000 ($US250) per person.
